An Alligator, A Song, and A Boy
Dylan turned 2! Mommy made an alligator cake (Daddy helped too) in honor of Dylan's first 4-syllable word. And, Dylan's friends sang the Happy Birthday song twice at Dylan's request so he could blow out the candles again -- thanks everyone, that was the very best birthday yet!
Caden, Riley, and Dylan too (you can see Dylan's arm with the blue sleeve) loved the kitchen.
Dylan and Maddox enjoyed building a track for a round of cars.

The Best Birthday Yet
The balloons were a big hit (and sometimes pop) to get the party started.
Mommy makes the cake! Mommy made a duck-shaped cake with homemade lemon cake and lemon icing. Dylan loves lemons and ducks!
Getting ready for the birthday song. Dylan's family and friends sang a wonderful chorus of Happy Birthday -- Dylan loved it! Right in the middle he started clapping (his newest skill) and the crowd clapped too. Tuesday, May 22, 2007
A Birthday Poem
In honor of Dylan's first birthday and his love of ducks, his Grandpa (Deb's Dad) wrote this poem...
Dylan’s Birthday # “1”
Lil’ Baby Dylan came a long way
From laying and crawling, and standing all day!
All the while gently hugging; his lil’ “Duck”!
This gives him comfort and brings good luck!!
Grandpa’s been searching and searching
To find a word to rhyme with a “Duck”!
So, as his dad plays Hockey!
I’ll rhyme it with “Puck”!
As Dylan grows older
He’ll know what I mean
To rhyme a word with Duck
Is no easy thing!
From being with Grammy
Who always was there!
To being out on his own
Surviving “Day Care!”
Life may be hard
As you head for “Two”!
Be happy and have fun
There’s so much to do!
So hold your head up!
And be real proud!
When things go wrong
Yell “DUCK” out loud!
Mom and Dad will come running
Faster than a speeding “Puck”!
To see why lil’ Dylan
Really gives a, “Duck”!
Enjoy your Birthday!
Love!
Grandpa!
