Good Stuff

Mommy's favorite gift to Dylan is "The Autobiography of Santa Claus." Daddy's favorite is "farm bowling," the pins are shaped like farm animals and a colorful ball to knock them all down.

Stocking Full o' Fun

The Whole Family

Ready, set, open stockings. Dylan's stocking tag reads, "Newari hand knits are made in the Kathmandu valley of Nepal. The people of the area have long been associated with a rich artistic tradition. We are proud to present you with a product that provides a much needed livelihood for many families in Nepal." We bought the stocking for him in Williamsburg, VA while were visiting family for Thanksgiving.

Milk and Cookies

Dylan made his first cookies for Santa who left a few crumbs for us to find on Christmas morning. Grammy gave Dylan his very special cup and plate.

Who's cuter?

The penguins or Dylan? Why Dylan of course! Never too far from wildlife, we visited the mini-zoo at the Hilton Hawaiian.

Number 1, Number 9489, and a Spectator

Can you believe our luck? We ran into Ambesse Tolosa leaving his hotel as we were leaving Starbucks. We were nervous about asking for a photograph, so we developed a plan which involved Josh lifting Dylan from the stroller and tossing him in the air a few times. Dylan's laughter captured Ambesse's attention and Debra captured the photograph. Ambesse Tolosa won the Honolulu Marathon in 2:13:42. Josh finished a bit later at 5:18:25. Dylan was in awe of Ambesse's 5:06 mile pace, but most impressed by his dad, his uncle, and his grampa, for all finishing the full marathon.

Right on!

Dylan is proud of his dad's first showing at the Honululu Marathon, finishing number 9489 out of 28,635 entrants.

Ready to Race

It's 2:30 AM in Honolulu, Hawaii as Josh poses from the hotel balcony before leaving for the start line. Good luck!

Number 1 Sunset

Dylan enjoys his first sunset -- mom and dad were wowed when we realized he was holding up one finger in this photograph. How did he know?!

Dylan Enjoys a Good Vacation

On our first official vacation day (minus the travel day), Dylan refuses to wear his sunglasses on his eyes though thinks they are very fun as a fashion accessory.

Getting There

Dylan handles the plane ride beautifully. He was bright-eyed and happy the entire 10 hours (with just a brief sleep before landing). He made many friends as he cruised the aisles and stood in back with the cool crowd. Mom nursed him on the way up and down to keep his ears popping.
