Introducing Ripley

Or, Rip-a-lee, to hear Dylan and Keelyn say his name. Ripley was rescued by K-9 Lifesavers from a high-kill shelter in North Carolina. As near as his rescuers and our vet can tell, he is a 5-month old lab/plott/mutt mix. He currently weighs in at 25 pounds and loosely projected to gain another 5- 15. He is beautiful, smart, and eager to please which makes him easy to train. Yesterday marked his first week with us. He is doing amazingly well with house training. We are still working on his desire to chew everything. He is as good with the kids as they are with him (which is pretty darn good). Yesterday, Keelyn hugged Ripley and said, "Mommy, this dog is wonderful." Dylan said, "Mommy, I love Ripley and I miss Mickey." Dylan is the sweetest boy ever. He is helping take care of Ripley including accompanying him to the vet. Our biggest challenge has been getting both kids and the dog in the same picture. Now, all we need is a baby...
